Ismail Aydin
Founding Partner
He is an all-round, hands-on seasoned lawyer with a special expertise and interest in maritime, shipping and insurance law. He advised his clients both as a private practice and in-house lawyer and managed teams in and outside Turkey. He has significant experience and reputation in handling cargo claims, wet and dry shipping matters, customs problems in Turkey as well as in more than 30 countries in Black Sea, Mediterranean, North Europe and West Africa regions. To put a finer point on it, he managed, advised and represented world-class shipping companies and their agencies for many years in multi jurisdictions. He has a good grasp of commercial relationships, steps into the shoes of his clients first and finds legal solutions after.
Nazim Karadag
Lawyer, Marine Advisor
He is a lawyer with naval architecture and marine engineering background and has ties in ship management. He worked on contractual obligations on cargo side with chartering-in handymax and panamax sized vessels. His experience includes consultancy services to ship operators of bulk carriers on their day-to-day business, with focus on commercial contracts and technical management issues. Being a ship agent at Turkish ports and shipyards, he is used to drafting agreements for ship agency services including port agents, crew agents and ship chandlers. He also shares his technical expertise as a court expert with Istanbul Maritime Court. He attended many casualties and knows what 7/24 really means.
Omer Bagci, Prof. Dr.
Head of Advisory
Bagci is a professor in private law and an actively practicing lawyer. He is the head of advisory services at our law firm. His areas of expertise are the law of obligations, law of property, inheritance law, insurance law, commercial and corporate law, employment law, enforcement and bankruptcy law. Dr. Bagcı has offered following courses both at graduate and postgraduate levels: Civil law, law of obligations, law of property, Inheritance law, family law, legal clinic, law of occupational safety, bank loan agreements and law of surety. He has also published books and articles in insurance law. Bagci has advised a large number of local and foreign companies and institutions.

Rayegan Kender, Prof. Dr.

Kender is a professor in maritime and insurance law and she has a vital role in Turkey's academic advancement. Together with numerous articles and papers, Kender has published 8 books in maritime law and 4 books in insurance law which are named as masterpieces and much-cited at the high court judgments. In her career, she lectured at 9 different universities. Kender also held the presidency of Maritime Law Association of Turkey which is the national member of Comitê Maritime International for long years and now is the honorary president of association. She was also appointed as a member of the Insurance Supervisory Board by the Ministry of Trade. She is advising on maritime, shipping and insurance matters as an of counsel at Aydin Lawyers.
